Centre for Digital Technologies – Basildon
The aim of the college is to provide courses for students to better meet the needs of employers both locally and regionally in areas such as IT, networking, games development, animation and web design.
The building, inside and out has been modelled on the design of technology companies providing the campus with a modern and innovative look and feel.
The rainscreen cladding comprised of Rodeca’s PC 2550-10 50mm opal panel integrated with glazed modules. The opaque translucent polycarbonate panels provide a light and changeable appearance reflecting the subtle light and hue differences of the changing day and surroundings. High levels of natural light were introduced to spaces using a secondary panel behind the rainscreen providing increased thermal performance. Although almost invisible during the day these areas illuminate of an evening from the ambient light inside the building.
