Wick Schools

Wick Community Campus was constructed to replace Wick High School, South Primary and Pultneytown Academy Primary School and incorporates a new library and swimming pool in a design which is set to serve both pupils and people within the town and the surrounding area. The scheme also included the construction of the nearby £14.5million Noss Primary School which caters for around 400 pupils and includes a multi-use games area, netball area and car park.

As with Wick, the Noss site also contains a nursery for children, many with complex learning difficulties.

The Wick Campus used Rodeca’s PC 2560-12 60mm opal panel for the facade rainscreen cladding and translucent glazing to the sports hall and primary area giving the whole block continuity in appearance. A double wall of PC 2550-10 50mm opal panels glazed the gable to the swimming pool providing soft diffused daylight whilst increasing the thermal performance considerably.

A double wall application, again using the PC 2550-10 opal panel was applied for the low level glazing to the sports hall at Noss Primary School. The same system was used for glazed infills to classrooms and nursery. The double wall provides excellent thermal performance, diffused daylight and solar shading whilst creating a safe and friendly internal wall finish for the children.
